Cranked Energy is a local brand in Winnipeg, who we’ve had the pleasure of working and collaborating with on multiple projects since 2016 (including designing their first brick and mortar storefront on Portage Ave in Winnipeg.) Cranked Energy first began in the home kitchen of the owner, Cheryl, and eventually grew into a brand which sells to stores in Manitoba and Beyond. Cheryl is active and passionate and we wanted this space, located on Sherwin Road in Winnipeg,  to reflect just that. 

To mirror Cheryl’s lifestyle, passion, and energy, we designed the space to be bright with bold branded colours. Having already been divided into zones, our project design worked with a dedicated footprint. The challenge was using the larger than needed space to feel intentional. 

To fill the space and create visual interest, we designed shelves beside the cash desk/pick up desk to display her branded content. There are subtle orange painted reveals surrounded by white and wood, which speak to the natural elements and bright energy of the brand. The cash desk continues this detailing, with a diagonal line to emphasize movement. 

Being able to cater to a range of customers was important to Cranked Energy. This included a space dedicated for families with kids with a dynamic seating solution in the centre of the space, ideal for kids to sit and play while they’re there.

Including a  media wall was an important design element for the client. In her previous location, we had designed shelves for her to display the current bar flavour availability, which was then relocated to this store front. We also designed a branded wall which functionally blocked direct access to the office and kitchen, but also acted as a location to take selfies and/or social media content.

We love working with repeat clients, and this space was no exception. Cranked Energy’s (and Cheryl’s) colourful energy and personality shine through in this space.
