Sweet Impressions is a boutique bakery located in Winnipeg.

We worked with the owners, Krista and Aynsley, on the design of their new storefront location.

With a well established fan base, Sweet Impressions has a brand that is both feminine and cute, and while they wanted to stay true to their well-known vibe, they were also ready to elevate as they moved into a new location.

We worked with them to design a bakery that blended their bright, bold, and colourful personalities with features that were refined, intentional, and playful.

With moody contrasts with more subtle pops of colours and eclectic details, we were able to add character and layers of texture within the overall aesthetic of their expanded space.

Though not physically separate from the main service desk, the concierge/consultation desk is emphasized through colour blocking and detailing that reinforces their unique branding while tying into the space as a whole.

We incorporated soft white elements and muted pink shades with moments of black.

Curved elements were important to our clients, which we achieved through the desk design, bulkhead detailing, curved banquette, specialty light fixtures, and a fluted millwork detail above the concierge desk.

While softening and refreshing our client’s original look, we also paid close attention to design elements that would reinforce their brand. Adding polkadot wallpaper within the interior and gold moments like the vinyl film on the windows maintained a quirky, sweet vibe throughout the space. 

A tone-on-tone pink rounded banquette with soft backing created an intimate environment for semi private conversation and the perfect spot for an Instagram selfie, of course.

Lighting the space effectively was also essential. We created a multi-purpose lighting scheme that could disappear, be subtle, enhance product, or act as a bold statement piece of its own.

Overall, careful detailing and intentional use of materials ensured a level of polish and refinement worthy and reflective of this Winnipeg bakery staple.
