A bar and grill located at the heart of Winnipeg’s infamous “confusion corner.”

When we were approached by Confusion Corner Bar & Grill (now Drinks & Food) to work with them on a design build project with Trickett Interiors, we were thrilled.

This was a restaurant where we had spent hours meeting with clients and coming for drinks with friends and it was a restaurant that had been on the Winnipeg scene for almost 20 years.

We took on this whirlwind, 6-week project with a sense of ownership and responsibility to help Confusion Corner step into a new chapter of their business.

Incorporating classic elements of the space to pay homage to long-time patrons, we worked to elevate the restaurant and bar space, increase seating capacity, and create a signature fireplace and bar story along with upgraded finishes throughout.

The restaurant serves many purposes: sports bar, lounge, large groups, and business lunch meetings. We wanted to create seating stories that served all of these purposes throughout the space. We increased the size of the bar, created a destination seating zone behind the bar for intimate parties and interaction with bar staff, as well as “living room” areas in each corner of the restaurant. 

We brought in new visual branding and colours palettes, along with sexy textiles, and upscale finishes like the bronze bar foot rail. We maintained the classic brick walls while incorporating walnut coverings to mask unwanted wood clad details.

With the reveal of the new space Confusion Corner Drinks & Food received praise and acceptance from long-time customers and new visitors alike. We’re thrilled with the results and happy to bring a new look and feel to a longtime Winnipeg business.
