We were so excited when our clients came back to us to work on this comprehensive lower level renovation. We wanted to design a space that combined contemporary style with functional, classic, and kid-friendly features.

The lower level of this home was a multi-purpose, multi-use space for the whole family. We took a wide open space and created areas for entertaining (complete with pool table and arcade games), a full wet bar and kitchenette, a kid’s play room with custom murphy beds, a secret kids-only hideaway under the stairs, and even a sound room for recording podcasts.

Beside the kitchennette and bar, we designed a booth with banquette seating which also echoed lounge. It was a huge hit with the kids who loved how it felt like being at a fancy restaurant. It’s also the perfect place to host friends or parties with plenty of options for seating.

An open concept living room in the centre of the lower level included a fireplace wall with a custom terrazzo under-lit hearth, as well as an integrated display sofa table. 

The final design was a space that was approachable, unpretentious, and family-centred, designed to be used by every member of the family.
